FOX 11’s Idol Finale Ticket Giveaway

Who Can Enter

Entrants must be legal California residents who are 18 years of age or older and have lawful access to the Internet and a valid e-mail address.

Employees of Fox Television Stations, Inc. and FOX Broadcasting Company, News America, Inc., FOX Interactive Media, FremantleMedia North America, Inc., American Idol Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd., 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each (collectively, “Sponsor”), their advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible.

How To Enter

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS GIVEAWAY.

Qualified entrants may enter as often as they wish. The giveaway begins at 7:00 a.m. local time on Monday, May 18, 2009, and all entries must be received by 12:00 noon local time on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

To enter, go to myfoxla.com, click on “contests” and look for the link to the “Idol Finale Ticket Giveaway.” Follow all instructions to complete the online entry. All entrants must become registered users of the website. Entry constitutes an assignment to Sponsor of all intellectual property rights in the entry materials, if any. Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ names, hometowns, likenesses, and photographs for online posting, and/or any advertising and publicity without additional compensation.

Sponsor is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry, winner(s) or other giveaway information by Sponsor or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the giveaway or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE GIVEAWAY IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the giveaway if it becomes technically corrupted.

One winner will be selected by random drawing from among valid entries on or about Wednesday, May 20, 2009.

How to Claim the Prize(s)

The winner’s name and city of residence will be announced live on-air during “Good Day L.A.” on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. local time. The winner will be required to call back “Good Day L.A.” on a designated phone line within 15 minutes to claim the prize. If the winner does not call within the designated time period, the winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing and announced at 9:15 a.m. local time. The process will repeat a maximum of four times until 10:00 a.m., or until a winner claims the prize within the designated time period. Winner must verify personal information such as address, zip code, e-mail address and date of birth at the time of the call, and then complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Release by 12:00 noon, or they will be disqualified. If no winner responds by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, then the prize will not be awarded.

In the event that breaking news coverage prevents “Good Day L.A.” from announcing a winner’s name on-air, a winner will be selected at random from among valid entries and notified by telephone.  That winner must respond to prize notification and complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Release by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, or they will be disqualified and the prize will not be awarded.

The Prize(s)

Winner will receive 2 tickets to the American Idol finale live results show on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. The winner’s guest to the American Idol Finale show must be at least 6 years old. The approximate retail value of each prize is $100.00.

Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winner(s). The winner(s) cannot assign or transfer prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value, including cash, for any prize, for any reason. In the event production of American Idol is cancelled or postponed, the prize may be cancelled without substitution or compensation thereof.

The winner(s) is responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes based on the value of the prizes set forth in these rules. Winner must claim the prize by Wednesday, May 20, 2009, or the prize will be forfeited.

Only one prize will be awarded per household. Individuals are eligible to win only one prize in a contest sponsored by KTTV or KCOP within any 12-month period, regardless of the number of giveaways entered. A winner who does not return the Certification of Eligibility and Release in time is still treated as a winner for purposes of this rule and therefore will be ineligible to win another contest for 12 months.

This giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules. Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, offering, or administration of the giveaway, or in the announcement of the prize.

By entering, participants represent that they are eligible, and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, (b) to release Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, and (c) to Sponsor’s use of entrants’ personal information as described in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at www.MyFoxLA.com.
